World
famous photographer to visit Armagh

Yann
Arthus-Betrand, the renowned photographer who took the pictures which
are the centre piece of Armagh's Planet Earth Festival will be in
the City on Saturday 31st July.
The famous French photographer has travelled the world taking stunning
pictures of scenes from the air. Armagh is hosting his exhibition
"Earth from the Air" - 120 giant sized photographs on the
Mall, Market Street and the Navan Centre for the whole summer.
On Saturday 31st July at 6pm in the Market Place Theatre he will attend
a special showing of his film "Home" which features unique
footage from more than fifty countries and follows the photographer
as he journeys around the globe capturing on film changes in our environment.
He will be available in the Market Place Theatre from 3.30pm - 5pm
to sign merchandise.

Photographic artist, John Baucher, uses the Through the Viewfinder
technique from photo sharing site flickr.com to create a mosaic celebrating
the diversity of Belfast’s visitors and residents.
A smaller wall of TtV photographs from other artists
will also be displayed. TtV is defined as “taking a photograph
of any subject through the viewfinder of any camera using another
camera.”
On the last night of the exhibition visitors
can choose their favourite from the 2000
plus photographs on display to take away.
